The Susy Utzinger Foundation for Animal Welfare is known for its sustainable animal welfare projects and activities in Switzerland and many other countries. SUST represents animal welfare professionals who are actively engaged in sustainable, effective, and needs-based animal protection on the front lines. Behind the scenes, this organization also stands for integrity and offers its donors security through an efficient structure, swift decision-making processes, long-standing partnerships, forward-looking financial planning, and a diverse board of trustees.
Professional animal welfare services
SUST has virtually no budget for advertising or marketing. SUST donors and patrons are a valuable support, built organically and through trust. The animal welfare foundation utilizes a modest infrastructure that is adapted to its sustainable animal welfare work.
Effective animal welfare for 25 years
SUST stands for animal welfare professionals who are working on sustainable, effective and needs-oriented animal welfare on the other front.
Active animal welfare is the focus
SUST is passionately dedicated to the protection and welfare of animals, drawing on its extensive expertise and experience. This focus enables the organization to develop and implement targeted projects that positively impact animal lives. This commitment to animal welfare is a powerful driving force behind SUST's work.
Flat structure
Thanks to its flat organizational structure, SUST is able to act efficiently and agilely. Decisions can be made quickly, enabling animal welfare professionals to respond rapidly to new developments and urgent needs in the field of animal welfare.
Fast decision-making processes
SUST recognizes the importance of rapid decision-making, particularly in animal welfare, where swift intervention can often be lifesaving, and prioritizes short communication channels. This ensures that decisions can be made promptly to help animals in need.
Long-term and close collaboration with partners
SUST maintains long-term partnerships both in Switzerland and in many other countries. Through close collaboration, SUST and its partners can achieve a greater impact and leverage synergies to bring about lasting changes in animal welfare.
Quality assurance: Working together for animal welfare
Partner animal shelters, partner veterinarians and organizations in Switzerland and many other countries are in constant contact with SUST: meetings, direct on-site visits and jointly conducted operations ensure SUST's high quality standards.
Control and further training
From volunteers to veterinarians: SUST offers a step-by-step expansion of expertise. All participants are only deployed after successfully completing appropriate training courses or after their level of knowledge has been carefully assessed.
