Here you can see upcoming events and activities of the SUST, as well as information on past milestones of the SUST, so that you can continue to reminisce about them.
These events are important because they serve to educate and inform the public as well as to provide further training for animal welfare helpers.
Animal shelters care for thousands of dogs, cats, and other animals every day who have lost their original homes for a variety of reasons. They ensure that these animals feel safe and secure in their care. Swiss animal shelters receive no public funding. In addition to the demanding care of their charges, they also face the difficult task of raising funds to guarantee professional care for homeless animals. The Susy Utzinger Foundation for Animal Welfare supports its partner shelters with various means, including shelter workdays, free consultations, affordable training opportunities, funding for facilities and renovations, and free food deliveries throughout the year during shortages.
More homeless animals, more expensive food, rising prices – the SUST partner animal shelters and organizations are feeling the effects acutely. Their support is especially crucial this year.
Completely in keeping with the Christmas motto: Every year again…
…our «SUST Christmas truck» will also deliver animal feed to Swiss animal shelters, rescue centers and sanctuaries in 2025.
The SUST animal welfare bus becomes the «SUST Christmas truck» and, together with prominent Swiss personalities, brings much joy to Swiss animal shelters, ensuring full bellies and happy faces.

Animal welfare advocates and other professionals learn fundamental principles for handling and caring for animals, as well as for managing animal shelters and animal welfare projects, in SUST seminars. This lays the foundation for further successful animal welfare projects that meet the quality standards demanded by SUST: Animal welfare advocates and other professionals thus tackle animal welfare problems not only with great care but also with extensive expertise, enabling long-term solutions to these issues.
Some of these courses are also open to the public and are offered at affordable prices (subsidized by the SUST) for pet owners and animal lovers. This achieves what we have set as our goal for our animal welfare work: tackling the problem at its root!
