Castration campaigns abroad

Curbing animal suffering: SUST tackles the problem sustainably.

Stop the torture, abandonment, and killing of puppies, street dogs, and cats! Please help us in the fight against the overpopulation of dogs and cats.

No living being deserves to be unwanted in this world. For countless dogs and cats (and many other animals), their unwanted lives usually end sadly and prematurely. We witness this almost daily in our work in many different countries and also in Switzerland: Hundreds of thousands of kittens and puppies are cruelly abandoned. We are all familiar with the images of drowned and beaten-to-death kittens on Swiss farms. In our workdays and rescue missions, we encounter countless abandoned and abused animals and hear from our animal welfare colleagues about their experiences with cats and dogs that died agonizing deaths after being "disposed of."

Hundreds of thousands more stray dogs and cats struggle to survive in many countries; countless others are captured, and many languish in appalling conditions while unwanted kittens are constantly being born. The suffering of unwanted dogs and cats is immense in many countries.

The solution to this problem is neutering! Thanks to these important operations, many dogs and cats no longer have to give birth to unwanted kittens. SUST has already performed thousands of such neutering procedures – yet there is still much to be done: Cat populations around the world continue to grow steadily. SUST also offers help in the case of stray dogs: Properly conducted campaigns address these problems slowly but steadily and sustainably.

If the number of stray animals is reduced, cruel practices against unwanted, "nuisance" animals will also cease: no more poisonings, no more beatings to death, no more shootings. In this way, animal suffering is curbed, slowly but steadily and sustainably.

The Susy Utzinger Foundation for Animal Welfare is continuously carrying out castration campaigns in various countries (Switzerland, Romania, Hungary, Egypt, Italy, Ukraine – more are planned).
