Switzerland has the best animal welfare law in the world!

A frequently quoted phrase in discussions and debates on animal welfare in Switzerland. But the question is: Is it good enough? Animal welfare organizations across the country agree: Many improvements are still needed. Thanks to direct democracy, these improvements can be achieved through a variety of political means.

The Susy Utzinger Foundation for Animal Welfare is also active here: In Switzerland, we monitor, review, and inform about political events that affect animal welfare. We support initiatives, petitions, and other actions in the interest of animals, and with the AnimalPolitics platform, we have created a monitoring tool and decision-making aid to increase the visibility of animals in politics.

Abroad, we seek dialogue with political representatives. Together with the SUST (Swiss Society for the Protection of Animals), we use these meetings to explain and analyze animal welfare issues and develop potential solutions. Here, we can present our proposed solutions and concepts for sustainable animal welfare while simultaneously raising awareness.
