Summer revival!

August 2023

Light skin or skin with little hair is particularly sensitive to the sun.
In dogs and cats, this mainly affects the ears, the nose, the area around the eyes and the back. In animals that like to lie on their backs in the sun,
the belly is also at risk of sunburn.
Protect your animals with:
- Shady places
- Sun creams
Not basically every white animal needs sun protection in the form of creams. In case of pre-existing conditions or hypersensitivity, however, you should specifically protect your animals from further damage.
First aid for animal sunburn Cooling compresses or skin-soothing ointments can alleviate initial symptoms. If the burn is very severe and/or the area is infected, the veterinarian should be contacted.
Pre-existing conditions make the skin sensitive Sun exposure can actually worsen an existing condition in some cases. Thus, conscientious sun protection is essential in animals with autoimmune skin diseases. You should also monitor and, if necessary, specially protect areas of skin that were previously hairy and suddenly become bald, such as scar tissue after surgery or injury.
