For unknown reasons, Octavia could suddenly no longer stand up and had to be transported to the animal hospital in Zurich by the Large Animal Rescue Service CH/FL for further clarification. Thanks to the professional approach of the experienced GTRD team, Oktavia remained completely calm during the complex loading procedure.
While most horse emergencies are covered by insurance or the private financing of their owners, the costs incurred in the rescue of so-called farm animals often present the farmers concerned with financial problems. To ensure that these important missions are nevertheless carried out, SUST, together with GTRD, runs the campaign "Farm animals deserve professional rescue too" and for years SUST has financed the uncovered costs of rescues of so-called "farm animals".
