This calf injured its hind leg and was transferred by the veterinarian to the Zurich Animal Hospital for further clarification. Because the best moral support for an animal child is its mom, the two were allowed to make the long journey to Zurich together in the specially equipped ambulance vehicle of the Large Animal Rescue Service Grosstier-Rettungsdiensts CH/FL.

While most equine emergencies are covered by insurance or the private financing of their owners, the costs incurred in the rescue of so-called farm animals often present the farmers concerned with financial problems. To ensure that these important missions are nevertheless carried out, SUST, together with GTRD, runs the campaign "Farm animals deserve professional rescue too" and for years SUST has financed the uncovered costs of rescues of so-called "farm animals".
