Apparently, word has spread among the stray cats in Doppelschwand (LU) that they won’t be shooed away at the W. family’s home. However, the family felt a bit overwhelmed when not one but two mother cats with kittens showed up, seeking shelter (and especially food).
We were happy to help by spaying the two "moms" to ensure that the number of cats feeling at home with the W. family doesn’t grow infinitely.
As adorable as young kittens may be, they eventually grow up and have kittens of their own, which also need care. We’re very glad that the W. family "pulled the emergency brake" and reached out to us for help.
We’re delighted by their lovely feedback:
"I just picked up the two stray moms from the vet clinic. They’re doing well and immediately dashed off... Thank you so much for your quick and uncomplicated help. We are very grateful. In the meantime, we’ve also found a new home for the kittens.
Wishing you a joyful Advent season and warm regards, J. W."
So far this year, we’ve helped approximately 850 times to ensure that cats can no longer reproduce and thereby reduce the suffering of stray cats in Switzerland.
