Actually, we are mostly happy about mail in the SUST-OAH Moreni, Romania.
There should never be such "packages".
More dead than alive, Ducu stood in this cardboard box in front of the clinic one morning. Hundreds of ticks and lice crawled over his small and already weak body.
Emaciated, dehydrated and with a nasty bite mark on his neck, Ducu could barely lift his swollen little head.
For days we had to give Ducu sedatives because he howled in pain all day. Despite pain medication, antibiotics, fluids and parasite treatment, progress was slow.
We reported Ducu's case to the local animal police and they were even able to track down the people who abandoned Ducu with us! When confronted, they said, "We rescued Ducu because we are animal lovers."
Even though such statements sometimes leave us speechless, we were not at all at a loss for words. It is part of this to educate each and every "animal lover" about what REAL animal love means.
We hope to have communicated the message to the people concerned in such a way that the message will be passed on and henceforth no more animal lives will be endangered by lack of air, liquid, food and medical help.
Ducu was very lucky. Despite the long time he was alone in the box in front of our clinic, he is recovering amazingly well.
First of all, his appetite came back and after a thorough bath, where the exo-parasites were killed, his skin irritations have almost disappeared.
Ducu will stay with us until he is strong and old enough to find a home. He has already found friends. Puppy is puppy, the main thing is to play. Cute as a button, isn't it? We are very happy Ducu is so happy with his "playmates"! Thank you for your support:
Who knows what would have become of Ducu without the SUST Orphan Animal Hospital in Moreni? THANK YOU!
