Sad trend in Lebanon...

June 2023

They are often tied up in front of veterinary clinics, animal shelters but also in front of pet shops, healthy or injured!
This is what happened to Dinky.
With a bite wound on his shoulder and severe skin irritations on his face, the approx. 1.5 year old dog was abandoned in front of a pet shop.
Fortunately, Dinky was immediately brought to us at the SUST Orphan Animal Hospital in Beirut, where we were able to perform all the necessary tests and examinations.
His bite wound on the shoulder is very inflamed, we had to treat him with a strong antibiotic, we can also take care of the skin infection now!
Poor Dinky was also covered all over with fleas....
Luckily Dinky was rescued, who knows what would have become of him...?
When we talk about pet shop, you must not imagine what we know here. These are just a few rusty cages, where the animals - with little chance of a long-term, loving home - are left to languish.
Dinky is now safe - and we wish him a speedy recovery.
Your donations have made this much-needed immediate help at OAH Beirut (Lebanon) possible.
The team at OAH Beirut is doing everything they can not only to professionally treat wounds, but also to spread more knowledge among the population through education so that this sad trend can be stopped!
Thank you for supporting this sustainable animal welfare work!
